Stride Bank Center, 302 S Grand

COMING SOON! (photos are renderings of what the project will look like)

Dream Out Loud will be unveiled in 2026 at the entrance to the south Stride Bank Center parking lot directly across the street from David Allen Memorial Ballpark. Artists are Kelly & Ty Tompkins with Neato Design, and Wesley Spencer with SpenCo Metal Works. Project was partially funded by a grant from the Public Arts Commission of Enid (PACE).

From the Neato Design website:

Enid has a strong music legacy. With this project, we celebrate Michael Hedges (1953-1997), a Grammy-winning guitar legend who grew up in Enid and whose inventive alternate tuning and percussive techniques blew the minds of many musical greats.

Michael’s brother and son, Brendan Hedges and Mischa Hedges, are filming a world-class feature documentary about Michael’s life and music. Brendan suggested Michael’s guitar named Darth for this project – a black, 1913, 11-string Knutsen Harp Guitar.

Michael has been described as “a once-in-a-generation force that would revolutionize the acoustic guitar.” I am excited to introduce residents and visitors to his incredible talent and be an inspiration to dream out loud like Michael did.
