Step back in time and experience the spirit of the pioneers who shaped Northwest Oklahoma. At the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center—a Smithsonian-quality museum—you’ll encounter the stories and personalities that defined the Cherokee Outlet and discover the grit, vision, and leadership that built a thriving region.

Feel the excitement of the historic Land Run as you imagine racing on horseback to stake your claim. Explore what life was like in a sod house, and learn how agriculture, oil, and transportation helped Enid grow into the region’s hub of commerce. You’ll also uncover the influential legacy of Phillips University and its role in shaping the community.

Outdoors, the Humphrey Heritage Village brings history to life with five authentically preserved buildings: the only remaining 1893 U.S. Land Office, a 1902 church, a 1905 Victorian home, an 1895 one-room schoolhouse, and a restored 1900s log cabin. The Village hosts educational programs, guided tours, and can be reserved for weddings and special events.

Guided tours of the Village are offered Tuesday–Saturday at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m., weather permitting.
