Artist Anastacia Drake was selected by the Public Arts Commission of Enid (PACE) to create Enid’s recognition of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. The mural was dedicated July 2, 2026

“Threads of Freedom: 250 Years of Shared Dreams, celebrates America’s 250th anniversary through a vibrant, contemporary visual narrative that honors the past while looking toward the future. Designed for Meadowlake Park North – home to Enid’s annual 4th of July celebration – the mural reflects the spirit of gathering, unity and shared hope that defines both the holiday and the community.
“Using flowing movement, symbolivc imagery and a bold, uplifting color palette, the mural weaves together themes of freedom, resilience and connection. Rather than focusing on literal historic scenes, the composition expresses America’s story through universal symbols – light, growth and collective joy – creating a piece that feels timeless, inclusive and inspiring for all ages.”
To find the mural, turn off Rupe south into Meadowlake Park at the EHS softball complex. Turn left where the road splits, and find the mural on the south side of the road.
