The Gladys Winters Tournament at David Allen Memorial Ballpark is one of Oklahoma’s premier high school baseball tournaments for Class 6A (the state’s largest) teams. The invitational tournament each April features some of the state’s top ball players and is often a preview of district and playoff competition to come. The tournament, started when the downtown Enid ballpark opened in 2000, is a memorial to Gladys Winters, a longtime Enid educator and baseball fan. Winters, who died in 1999, probably saw more baseball games than anyone else at Phillips-Failing Field, following the Enid Plainsmen, Phillips Haymakers and Enid American Legion team. [...]

Baseball, Hot Dogs & Apple Pie, sponsored by the Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association in partnership with Northwestern's Enid Campus. The event takes place on Tuesday, April 9 at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid. All youth players and coaches receive free admission, and players will receive free t-shirts. The Rowdy Rangers prepare the hot dogs for the event and the hot dogs, apple pie and drink meal is complimentary for all in attendance. Programs all across the country try to navigate “The Road to Enid.” David Allen Memorial Ballpark has played host to this National Junior College Athletic Association's championship tournament since 2009. Two more teams will be included in the bracket for the first time in 2024, increasing the field to 12 teams. World Series bracket TBA
