Flanders Flowers was completed in October, 2020 by Kelly & Ty Tompkins of Hive Appeal.
From the Hive Appeal website:
This mural was inspired by the “In Flanders Fields” poem by John McCrae. He wrote the poem in 1915 as a memorial to soldiers who died in a battle fought in WWI in a region of Belgium called Flanders. The poem describes the poppies growing over their graves. Poppies are symbols of Remembrance Day, now Veterans Day in the US. The yellow ribbon is for those deployed, Prisoners of War, and Missing in Action.
