Memorial Day Ceremony, Monday, May 26, 2025 Honor & Remember will begin at 10 am at the city of Enid airport hangar, west of the Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park and its M.L. Becker Educational Center at Enid Woodring Regional Airport.

The ceremony began with the Wall of Honor in 2000 to commemorate fallen soldiers from Garfield County, and it has since expanded to include those from across the state.

Memorial Day Ceremony will also honor two fallen heroes this year. All family members will be in attendance. The Kiowa Black Leggins Honor Society will return to present flags. The keynote speaker is Gentner Drummond, Oklahoma’s Attorney General and candidate for Governor of Oklahoma. Dr. Shonn Keels, Lead Pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church, will give the invocation and benediction prayers and Lindy Pitts will perform the National Anthem and sing special music. Blue Star Mother, Brenda Bingham, will conduct a Blue to Gold ceremony. Col Jerry Shiles and Capt Michael Lapolla will perform a special presentation to four veterans inducting them into the Oklahoma Hall of Honor, a division of the Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame. Col Carl Miller will dedicate the living wall additions. Legislative member, Senator Roland Pederson will present citations and District 40 Representative Chad Caldwell will be the emcee. Mayor David Mason will welcome the crowd to the ceremony. Taps will be performed by Johnny Greer. Services begin at 10 am. A free BBQ meal will be served by the North Enid Lions Club following the services, donations appreciated.
