Join the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center for an exciting event of exploration, drinks and more on Friday, April 10, from 6 to 9 pm. This year’s theme is “Off the Vine,” which will explore Oklahoma’s rich wine history.
Local wineries, along with historical interpreters, will take guests through the rich history of the grape industry and wine production in Oklahoma. Attendees will be guided through the Humphrey Heritage Village while sampling wines from Vernost Wine and Twisted and Tangled Winery! In addition, Watonga Cheese Factory and Lynch Family Farms will be providing snack pairings to accompany the evening.
Attendees will learn how wine is intertwined with Oklahoma’s history, as well as its ever-evolving horticulture and agritourism industries, as grape growing and wine production have been an important part of its story since before statehood. Guests will even hear from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture’s Viticulture and Enology Coordinator, Madison Franklin!
Liquid History is part of our Museum After Dark series of events. The evening is sponsored in part by Watonga Cheese Factory and Lynch Family Farms. Special thanks to both Vernost and Twisted and Tangled for providing wine.
Ticketed group tours start at 6 pm, with tours beginning every 20 minutes. Tours will last a little over one hour. Tickets for Liquid History: Off the Vine are priced at $40 per guest. Tickets are available through the website link on this page. Vernost Wine and Twisted and Tangled Winery will have bottles available for purchase for a separate fee payable to the winery. You must be 21 years of age and provide a valid ID to attend this event.
